Game Overview
Pokemon Platinum was released for the Nintendo DS, not the Game Boy Advance, and was developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. It arrived during a period when the DS was well established, offering a more polished and expanded version of the Sinnoh region originally seen in Diamond and Pearl.You control a young trainer who sets out to collect Pokemon, challenge eight gym leaders, and thwart the plans of Team Galactic. The game introduces the Distortion World, a surreal area with altered physics and platforming challenges, and expands the endgame with the Battle Frontier, a complex facility for high level competitive play. The pacing is deliberate, with a higher difficulty curve in certain areas, especially post game. It feels like a complete and thoughtful refinement of the Sinnoh journey.
