Before starting, you can choose the number of human players, select a difficulty level, and create a contestant by entering a name and choosing a character portrait. You can play solo against computer-controlled opponents or compete with up to two friends.

Each match follows three rounds: Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy, and Final Jeopardy. In the first two rounds, you select clues from a board of categories, with higher-value clues generally presenting greater challenges. You must buzz in quickly, then enter your response using the controller's on-screen letter selection system. Correct answers increase your score, while incorrect responses cost you money. Daily Doubles introduce extra strategy by allowing you to wager your earnings on a single clue.

The final round gives eligible contestants one last opportunity to change the outcome with a carefully chosen wager and a response to the final clue. Three difficulty settings adjust the time available to answer, making the game suitable for different skill levels.
