Game Overview
Mario Bros. came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1983, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of those early arcade-style games that felt right at home on the console, a straightforward two-player experience without any grand story or overworld to get lost in.
You control either Mario or Luigi, moving across a series of single-screen stages to defeat all enemies. The main objective is to clear each level by hitting the platform beneath an enemy to flip it on its back, then kicking it off the screen before it recovers. You collect coins that appear from pipe ends, and the game gradually introduces more enemies and faster pacing. The difficulty ramps up noticeably, especially when dealing with slippery ice levels or the quick, fireball-spitting Fire Turtles. It feels frantic and simple, a pure test of timing and coordination, especially with a second player competing for points.
