Krusty's Fun House
About This Game
Krusty's Fun House is a puzzle-platform game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in September 1992. Developed by Audiogenic and published by Acclaim Entertainment, the game brings the humor and characters of The Simpsons into a quirky adventure starring Krusty the Clown. Instead of fighting a traditional villain, Krusty faces a much smaller but equally troublesome problem: his fun house has been overrun by rats.
The goal is to guide the rodents through a series of maze-like rooms and lead them into extermination machines. Players control Krusty as he explores each area, opening paths and manipulating objects to influence where the rats travel. The challenge comes from understanding how the layout works and figuring out the correct route before moving on to the next puzzle.
The fun house is divided into five sections, with dozens of levels to complete. Each section features different layouts, obstacles, and extermination devices operated by familiar characters, including Bart Simpson, Homer Simpson, Sideshow Mel, and Corporal Punishment. Some stages also hide secret passages and bonus blocks, rewarding players who explore carefully rather than rushing toward the exit.
Krusty isn't defenseless. He can throw custard pies and use other weapons to deal with dangerous creatures that interfere with his plans. Snakes, aliens, flying pigs, and other strange enemies add another layer of difficulty to the puzzles. Players must balance combat with problem-solving, since defeating enemies alone won't clear a level.
With its unusual rat-guiding mechanics, recognizable Simpsons characters, and increasingly complex stages, Krusty's Fun House offers a different kind of licensed NES adventure. Its blend of platforming, exploration, and logic-based puzzles makes it a memorable choice for fans of classic Simpsons games and retro puzzle challenges.
